In continuation to my earlier post about the field of architecture,  there is a specific difference between a designer and artist,  an artist uses his brush as per his will and make different strokes on a canvas.  He uses his tool as master stroke to shape his imagination.  While a designer is a person who has to transform the strokes upon a live canvas giving shapes and colors to a 3d environment.  Whose task is difficult? Certainly a designer's canvas. To bring imagination into a reality,  to fulfill the dream into colors of 3d.  What a great artist.  And thy name is architect.  A different profession of art to reality. I will continue to write on this subject in my  further posts,  be in touch.

The field of architecture

Many people wonder about the Architecture as profession and relationship between an art & architecture, they don't know what exactly is Architecture, and what kind Art being used in the profession. (This is a very elaborated topic and will need pages after pages to discuss in detail) I (Ar. Sunil Manocha) will try to define and elaborate the topic , and also to clear the misconception and myths about this very artistic field. In a very few words the definition of architecture is “Architecture is a science which transforms an art into a reality, and gives third dimension to the Canvas”. Architect is an artist which thinks three dimensional, and transforms his thought to a beautiful reality in form of buildings, landscapes, and places to live.  Contd............ (I shall be continuing to elaborate this topic in my further blogs)
PERSISTENCE People can do whatever they want if they just set their heart to it, and just never give up, and just go out there and do it.                                                 Bethany Hamilton

VAASTU CONTINUED..........

In continuation of my previous blog on Vaastu principles, today I would like to discuss use of Vaastu in elaborated way. 1: In Vaastu based plan circular or hexagonal or irregular shapes in planning is not allowed, only square & rectangular plans are permitted: This has a scientific reason that maximum areas can be utilized in rectangular & square plans, and there is minimum wastage of area to be used. 2: Store/ Elevated area with minimum openings is to be kept in south, southwest and western walls: This has a valid point , these areas since have very less openings will stop the heat from the setting south west sun thus giving more comfortable environment inside the building 3: Stairs to be clock wise and rectangular in shape no circular stairs allowed: Usually we do parikrama clockwise in temples, i think this relates the faith for stairs in a building. 4: In Bed Rooms the Head position while sleeping should not be towards north side: This has some re
A house A villa An apartment No? A farmhouse A hill May be, Being a child they may have fascinated us a lot and that flight of fancies, Oh! They were amazing. But now, When I understand the logic that “Even a brick wants to be something”. I just don’t get it. At this age how as child I wondered owing one of those and now being seasoned to ups and downs of life. They are just the fallacies of world. The generation of my time can easily comprehend what I am trying to convey and youth reading may say - No, I want to live in those mysterious adventures of well structured dreams of my villa. This is not at all crazy or weird Because that is when we are all attracted to all moonshine and razzmatazz. In a way it’s good to see younger ones growing up and realizing what they want. No human is ever satisfied with anything But as you grow you learn to appreciate all those small things that never bothered. Reaching at this age, they will also feel the same and may be when we are on other side of
VAASTU IN PLANNING What is VAASTU ; VAASTU is termed as ancient science and principals to be used in planning. The basic principals are Puja room and water tank in eeshan (North East corner)  Kitchen in south east corner And heavy structure/ store in south west corner. Rest bed rooms and other spaces. " A very simple logic". This logic holds correct while planning in a bigger plot/ farm where there is an ample space around the house and you have morning sun, evening sun and good breeze. now what if the case is 1000 sqft plot in row housing, and both side common wall. Here VAASTU principals cannot be worked out and will be irrelevant, you should look to the open spaces keep kitchen and rooms well ventilated, and plan to have more of natural air and light. Forget VAASTU, or you will mess up with an idiotic plan. VAASTU is basic principle not a rule to follow, it is not a religion but a healthy science.

Interior designer as a profession

Interior design as a subject is very vast and has various form. A small bed to drawing room or designing of a massive shopping mall , boutique and a corporate office. This subject needs a different visualization and a different approach.  Lighting plays a major role and a perfect interior depends upon the lighting used as a part of aesthetics.  Interior design as profession needs a regular updates of upcoming materials and use of individual artistic expertise to create the magic of colors.  In Bhopal interior designing is at developing stage but as new emerging branch a new dawn is visible in the horizon.  One must wake up to the new era of interior design. - A promising profession
Do you want to grow up to be an artist. No, because creativity knows no age or definite medium. I wouldn't want to grow up to be something I already am.     ---- anonymous This struck me right in heart when I dropped up my diploma in mechanical engineering to take up a course of an architect.  Initially, it was different as a perfect art studied about roman architecture,Islamic architecture, mesoamerican architecture and more. My mind was blown to admire such beautiful man-made giant structures. soon we were on toes with projects, assignments , sketches burdened with a minute line to brush strokes. Being running business in the era of computers looking back at those college memories when we used set squares and stencils defining every negligible line was a job full of patience. The birth of computer and calculator made it easier for us to make drawing, maps, elevations easily design-able. Yet, being an artist still reflects back those memories full of emotions expressed in
